Programme Leadership - Case Study


 

Our client for this £25m programme was implementing an ERP solution to support its global operations. The solution was intended to replace existing applications operated by a third party organisation that was planning to terminate support for the applications.

 

It had staffed the programme with a number of contractors, supported by internal resources, but had missed a number of deadlines.

 

We were requested by the Chief Executive to establish a Programme Management team to take responsibility for completing the programme within a 6 month deadline, at which time support for the existing the applications was due to cease.

 

 Key activities included:

•    Conducting a detailed assessment of progress achieved

•    Developing a detailed plan for completing the programme

•    Selecting additional contractor resources

•    Managing the completion of all outstanding activities

•    Reporting project progress and costs to the programme sponsor

 

With our support and guidance the programme was implemented on time. We also supported the selection of, and contract negotiation with, an external provider of application support services, and managed the handover of support to the selected provider.
