Programme Set Up

Our client was planning to conduct a £60m programme, comprising a number of projects, to enhance its existing ERP solution to meet a number of business requirements.

 

Our role included:

  • Leading the selection of an ERP implementation services provider to support the programme

  • Preparing cost estimates for each of the projects included in the programme

  • Preparing, and managing the approval of, the business case for a £30m project included in the programme

  • Designing and establishing the programme governance structure

  • Defining and implementing a comprehensive programme management reporting structure

 

Programme Cost Review and Challenge

We have been engaged on a number of occasions to review and challenge cost estimates provided to our clients by providers of ERP implementation services.

 

In conducting these reviews, key areas on which we have focused include:

We have consistently identified opportunities for significant cost savings, including:

  • 15% to 40% reduction in estimated costs of £70m (POTENTIAL SAVING: £10m to £30m)

  • 12% reduction in estimated costs of £25m (POTENTIAL SAVING: £3.0m)

  • 20% reduction in estimated costs of £13m (POTENTIAL SAVING: £2.6m)

  • 20% reduction in estimated costs of £2.5m (POTENTIAL SAVING: £0.5m)
